When looking at this newspaper front page, I found the language used to be very interesting. In comparison with a lot of other newspaper headlines about the Death of Queen Elizabeth II, this one does not speak of her as a royal. By using only general pronouns, the human side of the Queen is highlighted and audiences are made to feel a much deeper empathy for her grieving family. I also noticed that the sub-headline is still written in gold and purple, despite this being released a number of days after the Death. This shows just how important the event was in national news as the papers are still going against their general branding to honour her.

Daily Telegraph Queen cover
The Daily Telegraph uses a black and white photo to increase the emotion presented on the front page. It has clear connotations of something from the past, like a memory, and emphasises the idea of the Queen being gone. The quote 'grief is the price we pay for love' is something that the Queen said after the 9/11 attacks in New York. It reminds readers of a time when the Queen was greatly praised by the people for her act of having the American national anthem played by her guards. Additionally, the Daily Telegraph highlights her service with a 28 page pictorial tribute showing how long these plans for her Death have been in place. In comparison with the other newspapers, the Daily telegraph took an emotive yet not opinionated direction for their cover allowing the newspaper to be appreciated by all, no matter their view.
